Raider Families,

It is with great pleasure that I take this opportunity to welcome you to Richmond County Elementary/Middle School.  Whether you are joining us for the first time or you have been a part of the Raider family for years, we encourage you to make the most of your time with us. RCEMS will continue its commitment to academic excellence and place a renewed focus on “Be A Raider”

I am excited to work in this outstanding community and serve as the principal Richmond County Elementary/Middle School.  Prior to this appointment, I have served Isle of Wight, Newport News and Suffolk as an administrator.  Becoming a principal has always been a dream of mine and I could not have asked for a better opportunity than to serve this great community.  I am looking forward to the new opportunities and rewards that the 2022-2023 academic year will bring as we work together to ensure that all students are provided the best possible experience.

The school administration will strive to be visible and accessible at all times to meet your needs.  Please do not hesitate to call and schedule an appointment if you have a specific concern or question about the progress of your child.

We hope that our commitment to you and your child(ren) is evident the moment you walk through the front door and I would like to thank you for allowing us the opportunity to work with you and your family.

Please join us on August 11th any time from 2:00PM-6:00PM for our Open House!

Due to some of our safety measures, students may be dropped off at the gym doors beginning at 7:45am this year, and should be dropped off no later than 8:10am in order to report to class on time (classes start at 8:15am).

We would like to ask parents to send correspondence by email as much as possible when sending in changes in student transportation, sick notes, or other forms of communication this year.

Computers will be issued to RCEM students to have pre-registered on the first day of school.

Computers will only be issued to students that have submitted signed copies of the 1-to-1 device usage Agreement and Computer Use Agreement Form through the registration process.

Do you or someone you know have an old band instrument that is collecting dust in the basement or garage? The RCM and RHS band program is here to take it off your hands!  Due to Covid-19, students are unable to share instruments that were typically shared in the past (tubas, baritones, etc.). Any contribution of instruments is welcome!

Stay up to date on news and announcements through the RCEM Facebook page. We’ll also be posting teacher introductions every night this week on our page.
